Welcome to the VPN transition web page. Here you can find information to both prepare you for the transition to the GlobalProtect VPN service and guide you through the steps to use it successfully.


What is changing

Beginning June 16th, 2022, GlobalProtect will replace the existing VPN service Cisco AnyConnect. This change will streamline resources and improve user experience.


What to expect

GlobalProtect will be initially installed alongside the existing VPNs. However CiscoAnyconnect can no longer be used and will be removed from your machine on a later date.


What to do

  • For managed Windows devices, the IT department installed the new program automatically.
  • For managed Mac OS devices, you will need to download the client using the instructions below.
  • Once you are using the new, GlobalProtect VPN program, no further action is necessary on your part.
  • Only central office, school principals and secretaries employees have access to VPN services.

Windows Usage Instructions

  1. You may find the GlobalProtect application running in the bottom right corner system tray on Windows. 

2.  Upon clicking on it you will be prompted to enter a portal address.

  1. Use “vpn.passaicschools.org” or “vpn2.passaicschools.org” as the portal address.
  2. You may be prompted to sign-in using your email account. However, if you are currently signed into Outlook on the web you will automatically be signed in.

 

  

Mac OS Usage Instructions

  1. Open the Manager Application in your dock

  1. Under “My Apps” search for “Global Protect” and install the application.

  1. Launch Global Protect and you will find it in your menu bar.

  1. Use “vpn.passaicschools.org” or “vpn2.passaicschools.org” as the portal address.
  2. You may be prompted to sign-in using your email account. However, if you are currently signed into Outlook on the web you will automatically be signed in.
