We are excited to announce that we are setting up Single Sign On between Google and your Azure AD account (AD, Windows Computer Login, and/or Email for staff).

Who and what will this affect?

This will affect the Google login experience for all staff, teachers, and students when logging in to your Google account and your Chromebook.

How will I log in to Google?

Step 1:

On a laptop:
        Navigate to either:

On a Chromebook: Open the Chromebook and select Log in with Active Directory

Type in your Passaic username.

Step 2: You will be redirected from the “old” Google sign in page to a Microsoft sign in page.

Step 3: Use your Azure Active Directory (AAD) credentials.

  • Staff and Teachers - These are the credentials you use to log into your Passaic email and PowerSchool.

  • Students - These are the credentials you would use to log into PowerSchool, a Windows computer or Clever using the AD sign in option.
Note for Grades PK-5: This is the same password as your Google/Chromebook account.

Note for Grades 6-12: This may NOT be the same password as your Google/Chromebook account but will be moving forward.

Step 4: That’s it! You should be automatically redirected to your Google account.

Helpful hint:  Start your day by logging into Clever using the Active Directory sign in option. If you keep Clever open, you can enter into your Passaic email, Google and PowerTeacher without having to enter your credentials again!

How can I direct my students to log in to their Chromebooks?
Students should see the login options below when they open their Chromebooks:

  • Starting in September, students who have been issued badges (Grades PK-1 and select others) can click the Clever Badge log in option on the right.

  • All other students should choose the Log in with Active Directory option

I (or my student) forgot my Active Directory (AD) password. What should I do?

Request a password reset here: https://help.passaicschools.org/support/catalog/items/46

  • Under “Choose an Account”, select “Azure Active Directory Account”.

  • If you’re requesting a password reset for a colleague or one of your students, be sure to select the “Request for someone else” box on the right-hand side.

When I log into Google, I get this error message. What should I do?

This error likely means that your account information in Google does not match with what is in Active Directory.  If you encounter this or another error message, teachers and staff should click here to submit a Help Desk ticket with the following information:
