Action needed (one time only): finish Microsoft sign-in with Duo

Hi,
We’ve updated how multifactor authentication (MFA) works for your Microsoft account. You will still verify with Duo, the same way you do now. You may see one extra screen the first time you sign in.
What you may see
When you sign in, Microsoft may ask you to install or set up the Microsoft Authenticator app. Do not install it or set it up.
What to do
- On the Authenticator screen, click I want to set up a different method.
- Choose External Auth methods (it may be labeled External authentication method).
- Complete the Duo prompt as you normally would.
After that, you’re finished. You don’t need to change anything on your phone.
Good to know
- This screen usually appears once, the first time you sign in after the change.
- Your Duo enrollment and devices stay the same.
- If you’ve already installed Microsoft Authenticator, notify the helpdesk and we will remove it from your account.
