Several staff members have recently received an email from PowerSchool regarding the cybersecurity incident that occurred on December 28, 2024. We want to confirm that this email is legitimate, and you should feel comfortable following the instructions to set up the complimentary credit monitoring and identity protection services being offered.

The email from PowerSchool can come from the following 3 email addresses:

What Information Was Affected?

We want to assure you that in our specific case, the only information involved was:

  1. Your name
  2. District email address
  3. Title
  4. School Number
  5. Staff ID

No Social Security numbers or medical information, or other sensitive personal data from our district was compromised in this incident.

What You Can Do

PowerSchool is offering two years of free identity protection services, which we encourage you to take advantage of:

  1. Follow the enrollment instructions in the email for Option 1 (if you are 18 or over)
  2. Enroll before May 30, 2025
  3. Use the activation code provided in the email
  4. No credit card is required for enrollment

 

These services include credit monitoring, internet surveillance, identity restoration support, and identity theft insurance coverage.
