To help you manage attachment sizes and ensure document clarity, we have updated the scanning menu on all Papercut enabled scan devices. You will now see two new options when scanning to your email.

Which one should I choose?

  • Scan to My Email (Option A): Best for general documents, 1-10 pages.
  • Email-Balanced Size (Option B): Best for general documents or pages with images. It uses medium compression to keep the text sharp while maintaining a reasonable file size.
  • Email-Small File Size (Option C): Best for very long documents (20+ pages) or text-only files. It uses high compression to create the smallest file possible, ensuring it doesn’t get blocked by email attachment limits.
  • Scan to Google Drive (Option D): If you are scanning a massive document that is still too large for email even with the “Small File” setting, please use Option D to bypass email limits entirely!
