Subject Line: Important Notice: Windows 10 End of Life
Dear colleagues,
Microsoft will end support for Windows 10 on October 1st, 2025. To ensure our systems remain secure and up-to-date, the Division of Information Technology will be upgrading compatible devices to Windows 11.
To streamline this process, we will be changing the login screen wallpaper on affected devices to color-coded images. These images will help you and our technicians quickly identify the status of each device:
Green Wallpaper
Your device is compatible with Windows 11 and requires reimaging by a technician.
Yellow Wallpaper
Your device’s compatibility with Windows 11 is uncertain and requires inspection by a technician.
Red Wallpaper
Your device is not compatible with Windows 11 and must be replaced before October 1st, 2025.
Action Required
For Green and Yellow Wallpapers:
1. Please submit a service request using this link: Schedule W11 Upgrade
2. In your request, provide three different dates and times when a technician can perform the upgrade on your device.
For Red Wallpapers:
• No immediate action is required from you.
• Your school’s technician will discuss budgeting for a new device with your principal for the upcoming school year.
• Please note: Devices displaying a red wallpaper will not be allowed on the network after October 1st, 2025.
